WordPress Wishlist

The below is the list of things I wish WordPress would do it for me:

Wish#1: Wish the wysiwyg editor toolbar has more options withrespect to Font size and Fonts.

Wish#2: Wish the editor could show me spelling mistakes as and when I type. Correct me if I am wrong, as of now I have to click the spellcheck button to check the spell errors.

Wish#3: Wish I had an option of browsing the rest of the web from inside the wordpress such that I could select some interesting words in other web pages and clicking a link in the wordpress top frame would add that text and the URL to my blog. Alternatively, it would be nice to have toolbar.

Wish#4: This is more like wish#2. This time I am asking for more. I would be nice to have grammer checker. At times I do check for grammer of my post by pasting it onto MS Word. I wouldn’t have to do this if I had this feature in built.

Wish#5: Have a messenger widget where I can message other folks in WordPress (not that I know many in wordpress.. nor do many know me.. I am fairly new here). I guess feature is already provided by the meebo sidebar widget.

Wish#6: This is more in lines with Wish#5. It would be nice to have an indicator to know which of the wordpress folks are online. Just an indication.. no messaging. I guess feature is already provided by the meebo sidebar widget.

Wish#7: This I got as I was making some cosmetic changes (making the wish# bold) to this page. Why are we not having the editing/formatting shortcuts for each of the toolbar icon. If hope you are assuming everyone would know the shortcuts. At least I couldn’t guess until I just gave it a try (did a ctrl+b). Well I either din’t see this or was added later. Hovering your mouse pointer on top of the toolbar icon will show you the shortcut.

Wish#8: Guys.. I am tired.. this is the 4th time I am returning back to this page in the past 1 minute to post my wish. I don’t see a theme preview for the themes that are available in wordpress.

Wish#9: When I am logged into wordpress and when I am reading static pages, there is no way to quickly edit them. I would always have to come to Dashboard->Manage->Pages to edit them.

Damn.. I had lot of things in my mind.. but forgot all that. Thats the reason why I created this page.

Will continue to update this page as and when I get more ideas for wordpress folks.
